Working Equitation East

Rebecca Algar is from Dunnellon, Florida, and has been a Working Equitation 'S' judge for ten years. She was a previously an AQHA and APHA judge for 13 years, and judged dressage in the UK many years ago.

Her diversity in the competition area is unusual, from racing, three-day eventing, dressage and jumping to western events, including cutting and reining. She is a four-time World Champion, two-time Reserve Champion, holds 19 European Champion titles and was an individual and team Gold Medalist at the World's Nations Cup, riding for Great Britain. She has also represented the USA on three occasions as a cutting horse competitor.  She is former coach to Leslie Law, Olympic Gold Medalist in 3- Day Event at Beijing.

One of the first licensed Working Equitation judges in the United States, Ms. Price has judged numerous shows in the U.S. and Canada since 2014, including National and Zone Championships. She was a founding member of the U.S. Rules for Working Equitation Committee, served on WE United’s Board of Directors in several roles, including President, and more recently on USAWE's Board of Directors as President. Currently, she oversees USAWE’s international competition efforts as Chair of the International Committee.
Ms. Price has been actively involved with developing WE in the U.S. since 2013. She completed her initial judge training with WAWE International Judge Instructor, Claudia Elsner Matos, and more recently with WAWE Judge Antonio Vicente. She also participated in clinics with Portuguese Working Equitation Master Nuno Matos, and has studied with several prominent dressage clinicians.

Katja and her husband were the first breeders of Lusitano horses in Switzerland and are the founders of the Swiss Lusitano Breeding Association. She has been involved with Working Equitation since 2012. In 2022, she was a member of the Swiss team at the WE World Championship in Les Herbiers, France. In 2024, she was a member of the judging team for the WE European Championships in Oboriste, Czech Republic.
